RIDGEWOOD -- A former Ridgewood probationary police officer is scheduled to appear in court on Monday to face a number of charges including drunken driving from an August car crash, NorthJersey.com reported.
Police said Patrick Ward, 22, was driving a car in the early on Aug. 23 in Hardyston, Sussex County, when it careened off the road and crashed, injuring four passengers, according to the report.
Hardyston police reportedly issued Ward two tickets a month after the crash. Criminal charges were filed in October.
Ward was scheduled Monday for a hearing in Superior Court in Sussex County on four counts of assault by an automotive, a drunken driving charge and traffic summonses, NorthJersey.com repoted.
Ward resigned from the department in September citing injuries he sustained in the crash and the force's policy on unpaid and paid leave, according to the report.
