STANHOPE -- A funeral will be held Saturday for Dominick Michael Cecere, the 17-year-old who was struck and killed by a vehicle as he tried to cross Route 183 Monday evening.

The service will begin at 11 a.m. at Grace Church on the Mount in Netcong, according to the Morgan Funeral Home.

Visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 pm. at the funeral home, which also is located in Netcong. Cecere's full obituary is pending.

Sussex County First Assistant Prosecutor Gregory Mueller said Tuesday no criminal charges are expected in connection with his death, though the investigation is ongoing.

Cecere was crossing Route 183 at Linden Avenue in Stanhope at about 6 p.m. Monday when he was struck by a 2005 Nissan Murano driven by Julio Acevedo, 46, of Hopatcong.

Mueller said that teen was crossing Route 183 "in the vicinity of the crosswalk," but that the driver had the green light.

Mueller said the driver stopped immediately and was cooperative with police.
