LAFAYETTE -- The group which recently bought Olde Lafayette Village for $1.9 million apparently plans a series of upgrades and improvements to the village-styled outlet shopping center, New Jersey Herald reported.

Lafayette Village Associates told the newspaper in a statement they believe the location can continue to support its current tenants and also attract new retail and outlet offerings.

The Route 15 shopping center that once attracted thousands of visitors to the area, has been on the market since 2014 after falling into foreclosure in 2012.

The center once hosted an array of outlet stores, specialty and antique shops, and hosted festivals and flea markets, until falling on hard times. In 2011, the center was chosen as a "dog-friendly" designation.
