Pablo Home of Sparta was carrying a quarter-kilo of cocaine when his motor vehicle was stopped in Parsippany on May 21, the prosecutor said
MORRISTOWN -- A 30-year-old Sparta man who was arrested in Parsippany while carrying a quarter-kilo of cocaine in his motor vehicle was sentenced Friday to 10 years in state prison, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.
Pablo Home had pleaded guilty on July 15 to one count of first-degree possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, following the traffic stop on May 21, Prosecutor Fredric Knapp said in a news release.
Under terms of his plea agreement in Superior Court in Morristown, Home must serve a minimum of two years, seven months in prison before he will become eligible for parole, Knapp said.
The cocaine Home was transporting had a street value of more than $12,000 and Home also forfeited $13,676 that were the "proceeds" of his drug distribution activity, Knapp said.

The conviction and sentence resulted from a three-month investigation into Home's drug distribution and money laundering, according to Knapp.
Home was transporting money derived from his drug distribution activities at the time of his arrest, Knapp said.
The case was started in February, Knapp said, based on "intelligence" gathered by a Wharton police officer following a motor vehicle stop on Route 46.
That information led law enforcement officials to prevent a large quantity of powder cocaine and crack cocaine from being "imported" into Morris County, according to Knapp.
Knapp thanked the prosecutor's office Special Enforcement Unit (Narcotics Task Force), the Morris County Sheriff's Office and the police departments of Parsippany and Wharton for their work on the case.
