11 arrests at Morristown's St. Patrick's Day parade and celebration

There were 11 arrests in the 20-hour period encompassing the annual parade in Morristown

MORRISTOWN -- Morris County's annual St. Patrick's Day parade on Saturday sparked less trouble than in some prior years.

There were 11 arrests between 7 a.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday, the town said -- down from 20 and 16 during the same timeframe in 2016 and 2015, respectively.

  • Disorderly conduct - 2
  • Simple assault - 6
  • Criminal damage - 1
  • Disorderly conduct, resisting arrest - 1
  • Driving while intoxicated - 1

Separately, there were 13 local ordinance violations, down from 59 summonses in 2016 and 30 in 2015.

  • Drinking in public - 9
  • Urinating in public - 3
  • Littering - 1

The Town of Morristown issued police statistics on Monday, two days following the parade.

"Thank you to everyone who helped make the Morris County Saint Patrick's Day Parade possible," the town said in a statement.
