The hearing lasted just four minutes before the judge ordered he be removed.

NEWTON -- A 39-year-old Newark man facing life in prison was tossed from a courtroom during an appearance Tuesday after several outbursts, which the man attributed to mental illness, reports said.

Donte Crumidy -- one of three men facing trial over a 2013 home invasion in Green Township -- was ordered to be removed by a judge after just four minutes during a hearing at the Sussex County Judicial Center in Newton, according to a report by the New Jersey Herald.

According to the report, Crumidy -- who also refused to wear civilian clothing during the appearance -- has become known for making outlandish remarks during past hearings, saying things like, "For the record, I object," and even turning a statement into a rap song.

The judge also denied requests by the attorneys for the two other defendants to be tried separately from Crumidy, according to the report.

Crumidy -- who is charged with kidnapping, robbery, theft and weapons charges -- is scheduled to go to trial on Sept. 6 with co-defendants Delquan Baskett, of Hillsborough, and Jarrell Belle, of Newark, the report said. Baskett and Belle are each charged with robbery, kidnapping, burglary, weapons charges and aggravated assault.

In late December 2013, three people carrying guns and wearing masks burst into the Green Township home, previous reports said. Two assailants then allegedly bound one of the homeowners with plastic zip-ties and covered her head with a bed sheet while the third went upstairs and later fled with a partially filled plastic bag, State Police had said.

During an investigation, authorities found marijuana, cocaine, $12,000 in cash and drug paraphernalia in the home, which ultimately led to charges against the 68-year-old owner of the home.

Three other people arrested and charged in the home invasion all previously entered guilty pleas, according to the New Jersey Herald. Two have already been sentenced for their roles in the crime, the report said.
