The Vernon woman died when her 1998 Chevy Blazer overturned and struck a tree after she lost control near a curve on Vernon Crossing Road, Lt. Keith Kimkowski said.
VERNON - Authorities are continuing to investigate a crash Tuesday afternoon that killed Kathryn Schnell, a 53-year-old woman.
The Vernon woman died when her 1998 Chevy Blazer overturned and struck a tree after she lost control near a curve on Vernon Crossing Road, Lt. Keith Kimkowski said.
Following the accident, which occurred around 3 p.m., Schnell was trapped inside her sport utility vehicle and needed to be extricated by emergency services, the lieutenant said.

Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene, the lieutenant said.
There were no other occupants in the vehicle, he said.
Preliminary investigation has revealed Schnell crossed over the road's double-yellow lines and veered off the roadway into a tree when she swerved back into her lane of travel, Kimkowski said.
