The man was pulled from the bottom of the lake by police and firefighters
VERNON -- A 23-year-old man drowned in Lake Conway Friday morning, police said.
Township officers and emergency medical personnel responded to the lake at about 11:13 a.m. on a report of a drowning, and, upon arrival, officers and firefighters entered the water to search for the victim, Vernon police Capt. Daniel Young said in a news release.
After several minutes, the man was located on the bottom of the lake and pulled to shore, where first responders performed CPR on him, Young said.
The man was then taken to St. Anthony's Hospital in Warwick, N.Y. where he was pronounced dead, he said.
The man's identity is currently being withheld pending family notification, Young said.
