Richard Rich, 49, of Branchville, pleaded guilty in May to possession of child pornography and failure to notify of an address change, the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office said.

Rich was also sentenced to 18 months for two counts of failure to adhere to his special sentence of community service for life, which will run concurrent to the other sentence.

As part of his sentence, Rich must receive parole supervision for life.

The investigation into Rich began in October 2014 after a person contacted authorities and reported that Rich had electronic devices containing images of child pornography.

He was arrested two months later following a joint investigation by Newton police and State Police, and found to have several images depicting nude or semi-nude girls under the age of 16 engaged in sex acts, as well as simulated sex acts.

Rich, who uses the aliases of "Richie Rich" and "Wolfman Rich," was convicted of the sexual assault of a disabled person in Sussex County in 2004, according to the New Jersey State Police sex offender registry.
