Commuters in northern New Jersey should be ready for slippery roads and limited visibility Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service said.

The weather service has issued winter weather advisories for Bergen, Passaic, Morris, Sussex and Warren Counties.

There were no major traffic incidents in the area as of 7 a.m., but NJ Transit said Bus Route 196, which goes through Warwick, Ringwood and New York, would not service Skyline Drive in Ringewood due to road conditions.

PSE&G reported scattered outages in Bergen County affecting a handful of customers.

Sleet and freezing rain will persist until 11 a.m. in some parts of northern New Jersey, the National Weather Service said. Around an inch of sleet could accumulate.

Roadways, especially at higher elevations may be slippery, the weather service said. The sleet should change to rain by late morning.
