NEWTON -- The Sussex County Prosecutor's Office is seeking more prison time for a Pennsylvania man who left the scene of an accident that claimed a Branchville woman last year, the New Jersey Herald reported.
Thomas Zoschak, 62, of Dingmans Ferry, was sentenced last month to three years in prison after pleading guilty to charges including leaving the scene of an accident, a sentence less than the six years recommended by the prosecutor's office under a plea agreement. Judge Thomas Critchley, citing Zoschak's lack of criminal history as well as signs of remorse, imposed the lesser sentence.

On March 15, 2014, Zoschak admitted he hit Cary Mattos and Vivian Hill as the two crossed Route 206 in Branchville. He also admitted he left even though he knew the women were hurt.
Mattos was pronounced dead at the scene, while Hill suffered leg injuries. The women were leaving a St. Patrick's Day dinner-dance with their husbands, who were both unhurt.
