Preliminary reports indicate that alcohol and drugs were not a factor, said a state police spokesman. The roads were dry and clear at the time as well.
LAFAYETTE -- State Police have identified the woman who died Friday afternoon when her Mercedes-Benz SUV veered off Route 15 in Sussex County.
Wanda Daley, 66, of Lords Valley, Pennsylvania was pronounced dead at the scene at around 3:30 p.m., State Police spokesman Sgt. First Class Greg Williams said Saturday.
Daley was driving North on Route 15 when for unknown reasons her SUV veered off the roadway on Beaver Run Road, officials said. Her vehicle smashed through a guardrail, entered into a nearby property and overturned before hitting a tree, Williams said.
Daley, the only occupant, was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and the roads were clear and dry, the spokesman said.
The State Police Fatal Accident Investigation Unit and the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the accident.
