MOUNT OLIVE -- Police arrested a Sussex man this week after he was found with a stolen gun, police said.
Police pulled over an Oldsmobile due to a broken taillight on Monday around 7 a.m. and discovered a warrant for the car's owner, according to a press release.
As an officer approached the car, he smelled marijuana coming from inside, according to the release. The driver, 20-year-old Alshyneek R. Norman of Sussex, was asked to step out the vehicle for a search.
Inside the car, police found several baggies with marijuana residue, a marijuana cigarette, a handgun and a pellet gun.
A search of the handgun in a database showed that it was stolen out of Attica, Ind.
Norman was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, unlawful possession of a pellet gun, maintenance of lamps and several other drug-related offenses.
He was released from custody after posting the 10 percent option on $25,000 bail.
