NETCONG -- Authorities have offered a $1,000 reward for information in a series of armed robberies in Netcong and Rockaway Township over the past month.

The Valero gas station at Route 46 and Route 183 in Netcong was robbed at gunpoint on July 26 and Aug. 2 around 3 a.m. by a male about 5-foot-10 and 5-foot-11 in height who was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, dark-color shoes, a black mask and glasses, according to Morris County CrimeStoppers.

The man entered the gas station on foot from Route 46 and robbed an employee at gunpoint, CrimeStoppers said. Authorities didn't indicate how much was stolen during the July 26 robbery but they did say the man stole $180 in cash during the Aug. 2 robbery before fleeing the scene by heading east on Route 46 toward Roxbury in a gray sedan.

A similar armed robbery was also reported on July 19 at the Shell gas station on Green Pond Road. The suspect in that case brandished a handgun, demanded money and fled on foot with $500 in cash.

Anyone with any information on these robberies can call Morris County CrimeStoppers at 973-COP-CALL or 1-800-SHERIFF.

"No one will ask your name," CrimeStoppers said in the announcement. "If the information you provide leads to the arrest or indictment of the responsible individual(s), you will receive up to a $1,000 cash reward."
