A 54-year-old Stillwater man died after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle
NEWTON -- A 54-year-old Stillwater man died Sunday after a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Water and Mill streets in Newton, police said.
Joseph Gribble was riding a motorcycle southbound at 1:36 p.m. when he collided with another vehicle traveling in the same direction, Newton police said in a news release.
Gribble was taken to Newton Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
One southbound lane of Water Street was closed until about 4 p.m. while members of the Newton Police Detective Bureau and the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office investigated the crash.
No summonses have been issued at this time, but the crash remains under investigation, police said.
Several serious motorcycle crashes were reported in New Jersey over the weekend.
On Friday night, a Boonton man was injured in a crash in Parsippany. On Sunday afternoon, two people from Hamburg were killed in a crash on Route 287, and, in South Jersey, a 31-year-old woman was killed in a crash in Franklin Township.
