1 of the suspects allegedly threatened to shoot and kill a detective with a firearm after their arrest.
FRANKLIN -- Two Georgia men were arrested Wednesday after police allegedly discovered them "broadcasting themselves handling various weapons" and then found them in possession of a firearm and high-capacity ammunition.
One of the men threatened to shoot and kill a detective after his arrest, according to a statement from the police department.
Authaurio Pauldo and Khalico Francis, both 19 of Macon, Georgia, were arrested at a Wal-Mart on Route 23 on Wednesday.
Police believe the men work for a traveling maintenance company that was working in the area.
While in custody, Pauldo threatened the life of a detective with a firearm.
Police say they seized a 9 mm automatic handgun, a large capacity ammunition magazine, a 30-round polymer magazine and "RIP cartridge-style hollow-point bullets," the statement said.
Francis was also found in possession of gold-colored brass knuckles, police allege.
Pauldo is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of hollow point bullets, possession of a large capacity ammunition magazine, and terroristic threats.
Francis is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of hollow point bullets, possession of a large capacity ammunition magazine, and possession of a weapon other than a firearm, specifically the brass knuckles.
Both men were held in the Sussex County Jail.
Pauldo was held on $25,000 bail without a 10-percent option and Francis was held on $35,000 bail also without a 10-percent option.
The investigation remains ongoing.
