Two New York men who could not find their car were charged with drug offenses
BYRAM -- Two 25-year-old New York men were arrested Saturday after they sought police assistance and were found in possession of drugs, a police spokesman told the Daily Record.
A police officer saw the two men walking through the parking lot of a bank on Waterloo Road shortly after 8 p.m. when they suddenly flagged him down. Far Rockaway residents Shlomo Topper and Moshe Kivelevitz told the officer they could not find their car.
Topper appeared intoxicated, police said, and when the officer asked for identification, Kivelevitz opened his backpack, where the officer could see drug paraphernalia. Topper handed the officer a cloth pouch with a syringe inside, police also said.
The two were arrested and charged with drug offenses. Both were released pending court appearances.
