The crash occurred early Sunday morning on Green Road in the area of Forest Hill Drive, police said.
SPARTA -- A Connecticut man is facing charges after police say he crashed his vehicle head-on into a delivery truck while intoxicated.
Zachary M. Watson, 26, of Norwalk, Conn., was driving his 2007 Saab on Green Road in the area of Forest Hill Drive at about 3:58 a.m. on Sunday when his vehicle crossed the roadway and struck a delivery truck, a 2007 Chevy, head-on, Sparta Police Sgt. Dennis Proctor said.
Watson and the other driver were checked by the Sparta First Aid Squad but both drivers refused treatment.
The responding officer, Cpl. Kurt Morris, spoke with Watson and determined he may have been under the influence of alcohol, Proctor said. Watson failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DWI.
Watson was charged with DWI, reckless driving, failure to keep right and no insurance on a motor vehicle. He was released several hours later to a sober adult pending a court date.
